More speed with new 64-bit servers

Software tried on new technology

Recently, RMS has been partnering with a few clients in order to advance the support of new technologies such as 64Bit servers and Oracle RAC databases.

One such example is that for almost 6 months, University of Central Florida has been our Beta site for testing 64Bit server. Thanks to the cooperative work between Rich Baro's team at University of Central Florida and the Development team at RMS we have successfully installed RMS on their 64Bit server and they are presently using this as their Production RMS Site. Thus far we have seen a significant increase in speed during process within the application on the 64Bit server. RMS thanks Rich Baro and his team for working with us in this endeavor. We are still doing some further testing on 64Bit and hope to have it completed shortly.

Another example are the three universities that are using Oracle RAC as their database server. They are as follows:

1) University of Notre Dame
2) University of Central Missouri
3) Florida Gulf Coast University

RMS assisted Florida Gulf Coast University with the install of their RMS development that connects to their Oracle RAC server and their migration over to their production Site. Notre Dame and Central Missouri set up their systems more recently. We are presently working with Notre Dame on creating testing environments on their servers. RMS is also setting up a new Oracle RAC system in our office so that testing takes place internally. Our current timeline to support Oracle RAC is midyear 2009.

We want to thank the above universities for their willingness to help with testing RMS in conjunction new technologies. We encourage anyone interested in working with us on new technologies to contact us.
