2008 CONFERENCE
Let the good times roll!
HE RMS Executive Board held their mid-year meeting November 14-15 to discuss details regarding the RMS annual conference, which will be held in Las Vegas on March 16-19, 2008. This year’s conference theme is “Let the Good Times Roll” and will feature a number of exciting presentations covering a wide range of topics of interest to RMS users across the board. There will also be a variety of vendors available to meet with you to discuss your institution’s personal wants and needs. RMS staff will be available during this time to add additional training.
For anyone interested in presenting at the conference, we are accepting proposals for programs. Those interested in presenting at this year's conference should complete the proposal form and email it to Heather Skaggs. If you have any questions, please email us. The ‘Call for Programs’ form is located on the RMS website. Volunteers are needed for helping with general conference setup issues including check-in, survey distribution and collection and binder preparations. Please send an e-mail to Janis Haney and she will put you on the volunteer list. A great place to help out is the registration table - this is a great place to meet and see the users – especially anyone new to the conference. If you are interested please email Toni Stringer.
The annual conference is a wonderful opportunity to network with colleagues and further your knowledge of the RMS programs. Don’t wait - register now for the RMS annual conference!

PRODUCT ENHANCEMENT PROPOSAL LIST UPDATE
The RMS Product Enhancement ‘wish list’ will be presented at the 2008 annual conference. This is an on-line product enhancement proposal list. It will be a web application that will allow users to submit proposals and to vote on proposals submitted by others. The results of the Product Enhancement Proposal voting will be an index that may be used to assign a priority to a given proposal for RMS future development.

In the near future, you will have the opportunity to rate the service you received from RMS on your Help Star ticket.
EXECUTIVE BOARD -
Congratulations to Heather Skaggs (The University of Southern Mississippi) for her election into the executive position opening for Secretary. She is replacing Coy Travis (University of Louisville, Kentucky) after his resignation from the board due to a job placement at RMS as a Technical Software Specialist. We appreciate all of his hard work and contribution to the board and wish him the very best in his new endeavors.
The following positions on the Board will become available for election at the User’s Conference in March 2008:
- Chair Elect- Lead meeting in absence of chair, Form Committee of 2-3 users as a new development advisory committee. Meet virtually via webex monthly with Development Manager related to new development and upgrades. Report back to Exec. (Moves up to Chair after one year of service)
- Member at Large 2 – Advance User Liaison, form Committee of 2-3 users as a “best practices resource”, Meet virtually via webex monthly with committee. Meet monthly with Training Manager on training issues and other best practices, Report back to Exec.
