Plans for next users conference

We are in the midst of planning for the 2009 RMS User Con
ference being held in the beautiful Hilton, located in the Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando, Florida from March 22 through the 25th! Once again, there will be some training offered by RMS staff as an add-on option to the conference.

For those of you interested in volunteering; we need assistance with registration/check-in, handing out and collecting surveys at each session, etc. Most importantly, we need you to volunteer or recommend presentations and presenters. The conference is only successful when we all share our experiences and adaptations to using the RMS software. Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Janis Haney directly at j.haney@ttu.edu

Don’t forget to register now for the 2009 Conference via the RMS website. Two positions on the User Exec Board will be available for nominations:

• Member at Large (Technical Committee/Matters) 2 year commitment

• Chair-Elect (Product Development) 3 year commitment
Nominees must be present at the conference to be elected.
Executive Board Updates
A warm thank you to Heather Skaggs, formerly of the University of Southern Mississippi, for her dedication and service over the past year. Heather supported the User Exec Board as Secretary and has since moved on to a career outside of academia and will be missed.

The new Secretary for the User Exec Board is Gwendolyn Duncan from Southeast Missouri State University. As Secretary, she will be responsible for taking minutes at User Board meetings as well as monitoring members on the Yahoo listserv.

Stacey Travis has accepted the position of Conference Coordinator on the User Exec Board. She will be responsible for planning and organizing the 2010 and 2011 conferences. Stacey has also agreed to assist Janis Haney during the 2009 conference, which will be Janis's last year in the position.
