Users meet help staff at Users Conference

The RMS User’s Executive board would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all who helped make the 2008 RMS users conference a huge success. We could not have done it without the hard and diligent work of all the volunteers.

This year the conference returned to exciting Las Vegas for the 2nd consecutive year, where users saw an increase number of RMS representative and user interaction. As one attendee said, “I really enjoyed all of the representation from the RMS staff. It was very nice to be able to go to them for advice, in person, instead of via a Helpstar. It was very beneficial to have them present in sessions for when additional questions were asked.” Throughout the conference, users had the opportunity to not only attend a session presented by an RMS staff, but also play RMS mania with the group and have one-on-one conversations and consultations with an RMS staff.

The conference could not have been a success without the user’s willingness to present on their areas of expertise. This year, the attendees had over 50 sessions and roundtables to attend. A special thank you goes out to all those who committed their time and energy to presenting at this year’s conference. If, now is the time to be thinking about if you, or any of your colleagues, might be interested in presenting at next year’s conference!

This year, there were 175 attendees from over 75 schools from across the nation attended the user’s conference. It is our desire that all RMS delegates returned home after this conference with a better understanding of the products offered by RMS and new ideas on how it can be implemented at your school, as well the start new friendships and the renewal of old contacts.

If you have any suggestions or comments on how to make next year’s conference even better, please contact a member of the executive board. We strive to meet, and exceed, all user expectations.
The presentations from this year’s conference will be posted on the website. CDs of the presentations will also be mailed to all who attended the conference, as well as the conference surveys.

2009 Conference and Beyond
The executive board is in full swing of planning the 2009 RMS Users Conference. Next year’s conference will be held in the beautiful Hilton, located in the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. The dates are March 22-25th, so go ahead and make plans to attend!
For 2010, the conference will be held at the Bahia Resort hotel in San Diego, California. We are currently still deciding on the location of the 2011 users conference.

Executive Board
Congratulations to Sean Berthold (Marquette University) for his election into the executive board as Member at large. He is replacing the seat vacated by John Richardson (Purdue University)

A special thanks to John Richardson for his service on the executive board as Member at Large. John has served on the board as Member at Large for the past two years.
