The recent RMS Users Conference highlighted the fact that many users are unaware of the training materials that are available to them on the www.rms-inc.com web site. So with that in mind, this article offers a step-by-step list of how one can access these documents.

Step one is, obviously, go to www.rms-inc.com and click on the Client Support Link.

The last entry is Technical Documentation. Select this option and the login screen appears:

Here, you select your institution in the Client Name drop down list and enter in your Client ID. The Security Verification field is a new feature designed to discouraged automated access. The value in the box to the right is what is entered in that field. Once those fields have the proper values in them, click the Login button. The resulting screen is a long page of technical documents.

This technical documents page is divided into various sections based on the nature of the document. The first section, Phil’s Checklists and How to Docs, is geared towards the end user and sys admin staff. These documents address various day-to-day functions and set-ups as check lists for all three student web self assign functions and how to set up liability deposits and summer rates. The Manuals section allows the user to download the end user training manual that is used for all new client training, the auto allocation manual, and the system administrator manual. All three will now contain a “last updated” notation now.

The third section, Technical Documents, covers many back-end SA and DBA related topics such as directions to set up student web for LDAP authentication. The following section has build and patch release information.

The last section breaks down the large end user manual into its individual sections for download.
